A large Chinese slightly waisted transitional brushpot, 1628-1644, Chongzhen period. Decorated with a scene from a drama, depicting a procession of figures across a landscape, an incised band above the foot and below the rim, flat unglazed base, fitted wood stand. 18.4 cm high, 18.8 cm diameter. Provenance: L. Cunnington Asian Art; ex Hon W.H.Kelly Mp (1877-1960)
