A Japanese totai jippo tree bark floor vase Meiji period ( 1868-1912 ), circa 1875, the ovoid vase with receded shoulder and wide rimmed neck formed as a highly detailed wired cloisonne scene depicting a waterside scene of cranes, herrons, ducks and other water fowl amongst a background of blossoming foliage all within a textured tree bark reserve on a porcelain ground, surmounted by a wide banded collar displaying repeated stylised geometrical and butterfly motifs, 74 cm high.
