Books 'Gold (the Metallurgy of)' by T.K.Rose, edited by Prof. Roberts Austen, published by Charles Griffen & Co., London 1896. Inside cover, inscribed 'Frank Mouslry, with the Author & Kind Regards, Royal Mint, Perth W.A. This volume was presented to me by Dr. Rose in London 1897 and is not the property of the Mint.' Frank (Francis) Mauslry was born on 14 February 1864. He was brought out from London to be the first assayer at the Western Australian Royal Mint. His mandate was to get the assaying 'right', but more importantly on behalf of the Crown. This book was his personal copy and has a pedigree link to the Goldfields of Western Australia, and to the new Mint. A very rare book with exceptional provenance
