Victor Trumper: Bronze statue, 1.25 times life size (overall 2.8m tall), by Australian sculptor Louis Laumen (1958- ), signed by the artist on the base and dated ‘1999’. Privately commissioned & owned, it has been on loan to the Mcg. Victor Trumper was an Australian cricketer known as the most stylish and versatile batsman of the Golden Age, capable of playing match-winning innings on wet wickets his contemporaries found unplayable. He played 48 Tests 1899-1912. Australian Test Player No.79.
