Description:
Harold Larwood's cricket boots from the 1932-33 'Body-line' Tour: a pair of white leather boots, hard leather soles with short metal spikes, the toe of the left boot is worn with stitches fraying, these boots were worn in the first test at Sydney, where Larwood took 5/96 and 5/28, and England won by 10 wickets. The boots have been exhibited at the Melbourne Cricket Club Museum from 1988 to 2008. Harold Larwood was an extremely accurate fast bowler best known for his key role as the implementer of fast leg theory in the infamous 'Bodyline' Ashes test series of 1932-33. He played 21 Tests 1926-33, and was inducted into the ICC cricket hall of Fame in 2009
