A fine quality gilt metal mounted Bohemian overlaid ruby glass vase 19th century baluster, with a central overlaid cartouche painted with a scene depicting frolicking cherubs, within a foliate gilt border, flanked by leaf cast gilt metal handles. Height 42 cm. Provenance: Leonard Joel, Normanhurst - Estate of the late Henry F. Young, 19th November 1929, lot 132 1929-1961 - collection of the late Charles Titchener then by family descent.
