Exceptionally rare original hand written World War I British naval officer's diary relating to the Dardanelles/Gallipoli campaign. Entries contain fair amount of content regarding Australian involvment of troops and their landing on April 25, details of the armistice for the Australians to bury the Turkish dead, Australian casualties, also entries relating to the RAN submarine '2, the diary which is in superb condition is exceptionally detailed and descriptive and was written by British naval Officer Cuthbert Carr, who at the time of the Dardanelles campaign served on board the HM Agamemnon, diary consists of 119 pages of hand written entries, with pages between written entries containing attached photos, coloured drawings, reports of action etc, the diary which is 22.5 x 18 cm covers the period of January 1915 to July 1915
