Thomas Prout Webb (1845-1916): Framed ambrotype portrait photograph in daguerrotype type frame, by Patterson Bros, Swanston St, Melbourne, together with a daguerrotype (c.1850), handed down in the same family. The Webb family, a most important early Pt. Phillip family, coming from Sydney in Sept.1836. Thomas's sister Ann, born Dec. l836 (proven by recent records checks) was the first white female baby born in Pt. Phillip. Webb was a major figure in legal circles, holding a wide range of posts, inluding master in equity and lunacy of the Supreme Court of Victoria. He became a Q.C. in 1900.
