An extremely rare and important Japanese Meiji period vase, of slender oviform by Kinkozan with a formal border to the neck and base and an all over ground of finely detailed cell pattern and having three scroll paintings of fine quality - a landscape, women in landscape with children, and group of women on a gold ground, each scroll signed individually by Ue Mura Sho-new, Takeuhi Seiho and Kikuchi Hobun. Marked on base. Height 25 cm approx.
