Large and Impressive Screen, In one single panel with side wing panels in wood, red and black lacquer and gilt, on a heavy base. Screen feature of a large inlaid sculpture of 'The God of Longevity' surrounded by children, peaches, crane and lotus (all symbols of joy of life), a scroll with gold ingots in a pot signifying wealth within gilt calligraphy 'New spring everything, everything begins, happiness forever' the 'Triad of Foo loo Seow' (the Gods of Wealth, Rank and Complexity. Pierce carved frieze of a court scene, seated wife on table, men to right, women to left on a veranda of house. The eight immortals carved on either side in a groove of scrolled leaves and vine. Goddess Kwan Yin and lion. The sides carved with people activities, dragon and phoenix, and the whole framed in a border of red lacquer followed by simple black lacquer with back in more contemporary scenes.
