Motion picture poster, 'Congorilla' 'The one and only Talking picture made entirely in Africa'. Starring Mr. And Mrs. Martin Johnson. Osa and Johnson were famous African explorers in the 20's and 30's and this is a documentary made about the pigmy's and gorillas of the Belgian Congo, hence the sub-title 'Big Apes and little people'. Research has been unable to locate another example of this Australian poster. It is from the premier of this movie at the Capitol Theatre in Melbourne Australia, (1933). Orchestra conducted by Australian musician, Bert Howell. Horace Weber Organist. Printed by Renwick Pride, Tattersall place Melbourne. Fox Pictures presentation. Poster is in poor condition and mounted on cardboard with additional poster on reverse.
