Bert Oldfield's Cricket Bat From 1928-29 First Ashes Test (Bradman's First Test Match), full size 'Gunn & Moore - W.A.Oldfield' Cricket Bat, match-used by Bert Oldfield, endorsed on reverse '1st Test Match, England - Australia', and signed by England - 16 signatures including A.P.F.Chapman, J.B.Hobbs. Patsy Hendren (169), Douglas Jardine (the infamous Bodyline captain) & Harold Larwood (8 wickets); and signed by Australia - 13 signatures including Jack Ryder, Don Bradman (in his first Test match), Bill Ponsford & Bill Woodfull. A few signatures fading, though most legible. Oldfield also used this bat in several games for Arthur Mailey's Bohemians. Provenance: A gift from Oldfield to St.George team-mate Ernie Green in 1929, to his daughter Coraline Lewin, then by descent. Has been on display at the Nswca for over twenty years
