A gilt and Iron-Red-Decorated famille rose teapot. Qing Dynasty, Yongzheng period. Of rounded form with a gently domed cover surmounted by a finial, the teapot is enamelled with a figural scene set within an architectural interior, framed by landscape elements and bands of gilt scrolling decoration. The elegant handle and slender spout are balanced by the richly ornamented surface, resulting in a refined and highly decorative example. Provenance: The David Thompson collection. Height: 16.5 cm
