An antique Chinese export Hardstone-Decorated lacquer box. Qing Dynasty, first half 19th century. Square, on a recessed and shaped base, the cover with moulded sides, the top decorated with figures and buildings in a landscape in variously coloured applied hard stones and ivory, otherwise with gilt and black decoration on the red ground. 16 cm high, 53 cm wide and deep.
