Two spear Throwers, Iatmul people, middle Sepik River, Papua New Guinea, stand not included, length 71 & 90 cm. Provenance: The David Whitfield collection. David Whitfield worked as an Australian architect in Papua New Guinea in the 1960's and 1970's. He travelled extensively and acquired a large collection of traditional artefacts which was added to in subsequent years by purchases in Australia.
