A good mid 18th century brass-banded ebonised quarter chiming bracket clock, Thomas Gardner, London the bell top case with four pineapple finials over canted corners supporting female term figures on a moulded plinth to a brass base on well cast scroll supports, the 6. 75 inch arched brass dial with strike/silent subsidiary, well finished pierced scroll spandrels, silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring enclosing the matted centre with mock pendulum aperture and chamfered date aperture, the substantial triple wire fusee movement converted to anchor escapement, chiming the quarters on a nest of eight hammers and bells and striking the hour on a ninth bell.
