A good mid 19th century rosewood cased two-day marine chronometer, Tho(mas) Russell & Son, 30 & 32 Slater Str, Liverpool No. 6043 the free sprung movement with diamond end stone to a cut and compensated bimetallic balance and Earnshaw type spring detent escapement with maintaining power, the signed and numbered silvered 4 inch Roman dial with subsidiaries for state of wind and seconds, in a gimballed bowl, the three-part case with brass corners and banding, set with a nameplate to the central section and with side handles Note: Thomas Russell & Sons worked from Slater Street-1872.
