An early George III sterling silver cake basket, Samuel Herbert & Co., London, 1762, the body with alternating pierced panels variously of scrolls, crosslets and geometric designs, separated by trains of bead decoration, the base with a vacant cartouche, the pierced oval foot ring with ropework border, the swing handle of openwork guilloche form with floral scroll work and two Blackamoor figure heads, 1335gms, 37 cm long
