An 18ct gold half hunter cased pocket watch retailed by Hardy Brothers Sydney & Brisbane circa 1900. Dial: white enamel Roman, subsidiary seconds. Movement: English lever, 15 jewels, no. 247697. Case: polished round, front cover with blue enamel Roman numerals, gold cuvette, case back with engraved decorative monogram Aea. Case and cuvette number: 839. Dimensions: 50 mm diameter. Signed: movement signed by retailer. Accessories: 14ct gold chain approximately 222 mm, 7.2 grams, fitted box by Hardy Bros. 13 hunter St. Sydney and 118 Queen Street Brisbane. Footnote. The monogram on this watch is for Arthur Edgar Abbott, who was the president of the Incorporated Law Institute of NSW (now known as the Law Society of NSW) from 1947-1949.
