A pair of Royal Worcester covered pot pourri vases, shape 519, circa 1875 (date ciphers indistinct), the reserves attributed to Josiah Rushton, each ovoid on a square foot with a pierced cover and a pair of handles to the shoulders modelled as entwined serpents, blue ground with gilt details, the front of each body with a gilt-framed reserve decorated with a shoulder-length portrait of a maiden, the reverse sides with gilt sprays of foliage, printed factory marks underside, 28 cm high. Condition: minor losses to gilding in places, and very minor chips to the underside of one lid., Restoration to the head of one snake (handle), inspection under Uv light indicates the possibility of further restoration to the handles and each socle, one finial reattached and restored
