An extremely rare Derby figure of the Actress Kitty Clive, modelled as Mrs Riot in 'Lethe', after an engraving by Charles Mosley (1720-70), taken from a drawing by Thomas Worlidge (1,700-1766) on star shaped base, circa 1750-52. Height 25 cm. Label to base reads: 'Extremely rare figure of Kitty Clive', see Apollo Feb 1960 'Sale of stock in trade of Mr Thom. . . . .1767'. These popular actors are represented in their roles in David Garrick's farce 'Lethe'. Provenance: The Robin Barkla collection
