Description:
A fine and very rare Worcester porcelain spherical teapot and cover, finely painted with butterflies, a dragonfly and flowers. English circa 1760, unmarked. Provenance: Albert Amor Ltd London 31/7/2020 (4,200 pounds). Robert Burke Collection no 131. Reference: Amor notes no other comparable piece in their archive and draws comparison to a London decorated Derby piece in the Marshall collection at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, but does not say what that piece might be. A related example without a dragonfly sold Robyn Robb 2005 exhibition catalogue, no 9, 14 cm high, 18.5 cm long over the handle and spout
