A Louis XIV leather-covered and brass-studded oak wedding chest, late 17th century, rectangular with a slightly raised hinged cover and raised on (later) bun feet, the top and front covered in leather and finely studded with panels and borders of floral and geometric designs and with the initials Cs and Sf to the centre of the front, with original iron lock and carrying handles to the sides, the interior lined in linen, 73 cm high, 134 cm wide, 65 cm deep
