A Barr, Flight & Barr porcelain inkstand, circa 1810, the inkwell of shallow circular form, applied with three quill holders to the sides beneath a beaded rim, the bowl supported on three gilded sphinx over a tripartite base, the exterior painted with a central scene of three children surrounding a fire, painted mark in puce 'Barr, Flight & Barr Royal porcelain works Worcester London house No.1 Coventry Street'. Lacking inkpot lid, 10.5 cm high, 11 cm diameter, condition: well presented, one quill holder previously repaired, wear to gilding and paintwork in places consistent with age and use.
