A pair of white marble, malachite and slate cassolettes, late 19th/early 20th century, each with a reversible cover above the reeded and inlaid urn shaped body on a square pedestal and moulded foot. Height 44 cm. Provenance: The Estate of the Hon. Dr John Kennedy McLaughlin Am, Sydney. Other notes: an almost identical pair in different marble was sold at Skinner's, Boston, in "European furniture & decorative Arts" on 8 April 2016, lot 537, as "possibly Russian".
