Description:
A Nepalese wooden temple strut depicting Vasudhara; 17th century; carved in very deep relief with a four armed Vasudhara standing in tribhanga pose on a lotus blossom above stylised rocks and beneath a canopy of leaves, wearing a long flower garland, with a benevolent countenance. Carved with a worshipper beaneth, and an inscription in Newari script below. Mounted on a black base. Two relevant auction catalogues included. The strut 91 cm high, 21 cm wide.
