A rare Chinese Ding Typed/Dangyangyu Persimmon glazed bowl and cover, Song Dynasty (960-1279) the bowl with deep rounded sides, covered inside and out with a russet glaze ending in a dark brown line, below the unglazed mouth rim and stopping at the top of the tall, unglazed foot ring to expose the pale grey stoneware. The domed cover with sprig handle similarly glazed inside and out, leaving the underside of the everted rim unglazed., 12.3 cm wide; 8.2 cm high.
