Description:
A taiaha, Aotearoa. A robust taiaha of fine form and balance. Carved with an extended arero (tongue) and well-formed upoko (head). Broad striking blade terminating in a flared and rounded base with geometric decoration to the head and tongue. Dark brown patina presented on a beautiful custom-made marble stand with fantastic engineering and weight. Height 157 cm, width 7.2 cm, depth 4 cm, on stand height 1640 cm. Registered as taiaha. Provenance: Formally held in private collections in Paris, Holland
