A Victorian sterling silver desktop match-striker, 1896 London, with maker's mark for Elkington & Co. In the Renaissance revival style, the rectangular casket form match-striker with a slightly domed hinged lid and raised on four scrolled feet, with a push button to the front, superbly chased with foliage scrolls and shield cartouches, engraved with initials and date 16 April 1897 underside lid.
