A Chinese 'Hatcher Cargo' blue and white lidded jar, transitional period, circa 1640, the jar of hu form with domed cover, decorated with shaped reserves containing classical Chinese lakeside landscapes. 5.5 cm high, 4.5 cm diameter. Provenance: The Genine Wallinga collection. Literature: fine and important late Ming and transitional porcelain, recently recovered from an Asian vessel in the south china sea.
