This old Huon Gulf food bowl is from the Tami Islands with lancet-shaped handles in the shape of anthropomorphic beings and a snake motif running around edge of bowl. Showing signs of much usage. Wooden bowls from the Tami Islands are distributed throughout the coastal areas of New Guinea's Huon Gulf, length 46 x 19 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, Queensland
