A Silver-Mounted violin bow, by Thomas R. Egan (Fl Los Angeles), Los Angeles, circa 1990, the octagonal stick with ebony frog with pearl eyes, the adjuster with two silver bands, stamped 'Thomas R. Egan' to the handle, accompanied by a copy of a valuation from Vita Dolce Violins, Los Angeles, dated 19 July 2002, accompanied by a letter from Russell Crowe stating his ownership, 71.5 cm long. Provenance: Smith & Singer (formerly Sotheby's Australia), Russell Crowe: the Art of Divorce, April 7 2018, lot 32, Mr Russell Crowe, Sydney, acquired from the above in 2002, Vita Dolce Violins, Los Angeles. Private Collection, Pennsylvania. Other Notes: this bow was used in the Peter Weir movie master & Commander, 2003.
