Zaheer Abbas' Pakistan Test Cap, green wool with the five-armed star logo of the Pakistan Cricket Board embroidered to front. Made by Naeem Cap Industry, with 'Z' in pen on the label and 'Zaheer' in pen on the plastic lining. Very fine condition and attractively framed. Zaheer Abbas was the 63rd Pakistani player to be capped for the national team, achieving this honour in 1969. He appeared in 78 Test Matches between 1969 and 1985, amassing 5,062 runs at an average of 44.8. In 1982/83, he became the first batsman to score three consecutive centuries in one-day internationals. Sometimes known as 'the Asian Bradman', Zaheer Abbas is regarded as one of the finest batsmen in the history of cricket. He had two stints as captain of the national team in 1981 and 1984 and retired from international cricket in 1985, but has officiated as a match referee in one Test and three Odi matches. He has also worked as the manager of the national team. In 2015 he became Icc president, the third cricketer after Colin Cowdrey and Clyde Walcott, to hold the post.
