Description:
A circa 1928 N Class (N110) 'Pacific' type steam locomotive (275 x 40 x 55 mm) built at the Newport Workshops, black livery, 2-8-2 wheel configuration, rolling stock configured for 1940s main line broad gauge use with five goods carriages including an Explosives van and Z guard carriage, total size 780 x 40 x 55 mm. (8 items) (twenty N Class locomotives were built at the Newport Workshops between 1925 and 1928, with a second batch of 10 following in 1930-31. They went into service with road numbers between N110 (this example) and N139. As class leader the N110 was selected in 1936 to test new features for improved drafting and reduced cylinder back pressure resulting in dramatically improved performance, which lead to all the original N Class locomotives being similarly equipped).
