Palmer, 1835, Vols I-IV (8vo) and accompanying volume of plates (4to), first edition, London, Longman, Rees, Orme [et al], 1835 (text vols) and 1837 (plates), contemporary binding, the text volumes in full leather, the plate volume in half-leather with marbled boards, the gilt-tooled spines uniform, the plate volume apparently complete with the 61 plates referred to (some of the folding plates worn and repaired). Vol. I with an anonymous contemporary inscription to its front free endpaper recording that these volumes were presented to Harry Frederick Barnett by Joseph Hodgson, the eminent physician, as a prize in 1846, the foot of each spine is also lettered 'Hodgson Prize'.
