Antique Chinese Yongzhen period (1678 - 1735) 18th century blue & white porcelain charger, of large size, with later Georgian English sterling silver applied gadrooned rim, hallmarked for London 1789 by Solomon Hougham (see paper labels to the back). Originally owned by James Wadmore (4 October 1782 - 24 December 1853), an English connoisseur. See page 138 The Wadmore's of London, which mentions the charger with the silver rim, known as the Turtle Dish (see paper label to the back). A true Chinese antique and much treasured by a famous English Collector.
