A Chinese Coral-Ground famille rose covered bowl Qianlong mark late Qing, 19th century, the large round porcelain covered bowl/box decorated with shaped reserves featuring famille rose decorated vignettes of scholars with attendants in gardens, against an iron red ground with gilded decoration of brocade balls. Apocryphal six character Qianlong mark in iron red enamel to the base, 15 cm high, 25.2 cm diameter. Provenance: by repute, purchased by a family member of the current owner in 1893.
