A Japanese ivory and lacquer Kogo* signed Somin, Meiji period, 19th century, of squat form with asagao (morning glory) leaves and flowers, butterflies and dragonflies in gold hiramakie (low relief) lacquer and coral inlaid flower buds., the design continuing on the lid with ivory finial. Signed Somin on a gold lacquer reserve on the underside, 6.5 cm diameter, 4 cm high
