A Japanese cloisonne vase Hayashi Kodenji, Meiji period, 1880-1895, the vase of compressed baluster form with a rounded mouth. Fine silver wire cloisonne decoration of a spray of various chrysanthemum hybrids against a midnight blue ground, with diaper pattern borders to the mouth-rim and foot. Silver collar mounts to the base of the foot and inner mouth-rim. Partially obscured diamond-shaped mark for Hayashi Kodenji to the base, 18.5 cm high.
