A Nepalese Newari bronze figure of a goddess 15th/16th century or earlier, the goddess seated in padmasana with a benevolent smile, with four arms holding a noose and other attributes, wearing an elaborate Crown, jewellery, a very detailed dhoti, inset with small red gems., the figure is without a base, indicating it could have been the central figure in a mandala., the bronze is of high copper content, 8.3 cm high, 6 cm wide. Provenance: Acquired in 1981 from Paul Nugent Fine Arts, Melbourne.
