A fine rootwood brush pot, bitong, with a thin red lacquer layer on the interior, Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th century, the shape is enhanced by the natural irregularities and the nodes highlighted in a dark brown, the base of the bitong is closed by fitted base, from the scholar's studio.
