Description:
Australia Regains the Ashes 1930, A delightful display incorporating a fully signed autograph page with the signatures of all fifteen (15) players in the team which toured England as well as the team manager and treasurer, a total of 17 signatures. The page has been framed within borders decorated with gold and green garlands and titled at top and bottom. The names literally jump off the page: Woodfull, Ponsford, Kippax, Jackson, Grimmett and of course, Don Bradman, at 22 years of age on his first tour of England. Arriving in England while the experience of four consecutive defeats in Test Matches in Australia was still fresh in their memories, the seventeenth Australian team to visit the 'old country' accomplished a very fine performance. They not only achieved the major objective of the Tour by winning the rubber and so regaining possession of The Ashes but, in the course of thirty-one engagements against first-class sides, they were beaten only once, in the opening Test Match at Nottingham.
