(Van Diemen's Land) A Convict At Port Arthur, A 'Memorandum' regarding the convict George Boor, written by James Boyd, the Civil Commandment, Port Arthur, July 1860, allowing (ie forgiving) an addition of sixty (60) days to the period he has gained by task work. 'Boor's conduct while at Port Arthur has been good. George Boor, a ploughman from Lincolnshire, was tried on 5 Jan.1836 for '?Stealing 1 shirt and 1 pair of stockings?, convicted and sentenced to seven years transportation. He departed on 27 Aug.1836 on the Eden with 280 other convicts, and arrived on 22 Dec. 1836 in Van Diemen's Land.
