A Khmer stone sculpture of Ganesha, Angkor period, circa 12th century AD, sculpted from green sandstone standing with straight legs above an irregular pedestal with projecting base, the elephant headed god with flaring ears and straight trunk curled towards the tip, above a short dhoti held with a knot below his recessed navel, his right hand holding an attribute and his left hand cupping his ball shaped sweet of supreme wisdom, 43 cm. Provenance: from a private Australian collection
