A Louis XVI style Savonnerie carpet, 20th century, the carved design, a pale ivory field with an oval flourish of flowers within a blue ribbon surround, the ivory field with shaped foliage border enclosing festoons of flowers executed in pink, blue, green and gold, 402 cm long, 295 cm wide. Provenance: Purchased Galerie Catan, Paris, 1966, one of the most important carpet and tapestry galleries in Paris from 1956 to 1981
