By Major A.F.L Gordon D.S.O. M.C. The Surmounted Cap Badge Belonged to the late Captain L.R. Hargreaves M.C. Irish Guards Killed in Action 25th September 1916 Approx 1936, London, Sterling silver. Captain L.R. Hargreaves M.C. was the son of Alice Liddell (Alice in Wonderland). Both the Captain and Major are mentioned in Rudyard Kipling's 'The Irish Guards In the Great War'. Approx 13 cm high
