An exceptional Chinese Burlwood brushpot, late Ming to early Qing Dynasty, 17th century, boldly carved in the style of Hongshou, with a r ock formation and a pine tree overhanging a waterfall, s upported on a wide flat-rimmed recessed base, two charcter signature of Hongshou, 16.8 cm high, 16 cm diameter, fitted silk lined box, *Chen Hongshou (1598-1652) was a famous Chinese painter.
