Description:
A gilt-bronze four-Pronged cup stand, Western Han Dynasty (206BCE-24CE), supported on a horizontal ribbed column and a widely splayed base, made as a support for an 'Ear-cup', probably Hebei province, 11.6 cm high, 15 cm wide. Reference: for an identical example see W. Percival Yetts, the George Eumorfopoulos Collection, Vol. 11, London 1930, pl. 666, the same cupstand is illustrated in archaic Chinese Bronzes in the Victoria and Albert Museum
