A 19th century scarlet tortoiseshell and cut brass inlaid jewellery box, the hinged rectangular bowed top and lockable front opening to a red velvet lined interior fitted with ring cushions, compartments and a single long drawer above a serpentine apron, raised on bracket feet, the whole with ornate brass and tortoiseshell inlay, the top centred by a cartouche bearing the initials A.T, the lock engraved Vervelle Aine, gilt metal mounts
