A Fine English Marble Figure Of A Boy Signed G.Halse, 1865 Modelled as boy holding a goose, standing on a rectangular faux marble base, signed 'G. Halse, Sc 1865' to the base, 110 cm high. Author's Note: George Halse is listed in Benezit as an English 19th century sculptor, who first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1855. He exhibited a bust of the Duke of Devonshire in 1858, and had a further exhibition in London in 1888. Benezit also notes that that he created a marble group for the 'Melbourne Museum' that was emblematic of Australia, but this has not been verified
